Distance selling regs?

I booked a van rental online on Friday.  Now need to cancel.

Am I entitled to a full refund under distance selling regs, or are they entitled to their "30% admin fee"?

I’m not sure renting a van falls under distance selling regs, it will depend what the rental agreement states. I think distance selling is related to product is it not?

Distance selling regs not a thing any more. Consumer contracts regulations is the thing to read up on now.

Not a lawyer, but my reading of the regs the previous poster pointed to, here

The “this cancellation stuff does not apply to” section, 28. (1) h), includes vehicle rental, so think you’re out of luck here.

This is what I thought too, but the CCR stuff I’ve just read covers goods & services, with some exclusions (vehicle rental being one exclusion)

The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 have a wider scope than - and completely replaced - the old Distance Selling Regulations.

Yep, as I said, I am now enlightened.

(…2013 is the date on the new regs, it appears, in effect from 2014)
