Hi

we are off to France for the hols. While there we need to know where the nearest A and E department is. Is there an easy way of finding a list of hospitals in France with A and E available?

cheers

http://etablissements.hopital.fr

You need to know which department you are visiting (kind of similar to area or county)

You need to click on the department and then look for

departement de medecine d'urgence

Best I could find was this website: https://www.hopital.fr/annuaire

Under "Rechercher par mots clés", type "Urgences", then under "Localisation" if you click on the icon on the right it will geolocate you (or you can type the name of a location); then click on "Lancer la recherche".

Thanks all that’s great. We don’t need an ambulance. My daughter had an underlying health issue that if we can’t sort ourselves we have to do A and E. It is not so urgent to need an ambulance

Are you OK to explain what she needs in French?  I think there are a few posters on here who are fluent.

Here in Britain we have Urgent Care, which is usually adjoining the A&E and where people go with something that's less urgent. We went there twice last year with my broken clavicle and my son's very severe tonsilitis and were seen very quickly and looked after well, without the need to queue in A&E.
