Morning all, 

Can anyone recommend a shrinking tool so that I can shrink images.  When I take camera shots from my camera for an app I use at work they are typically too large - 5meg ish - I need them to be lower than 1meg ideally.

Looks like an early-2000s tool but it's been updated in the last couple of years. Works flawlessly for me.

If you're not looking to bulk edit then paint is surprisingly pain free

What are you using to make the PDF?

If Word, then insert picture, choose compress from the Format menu and compress for screen/print/etc. Then PDF.

If you're on Linux then you can use command line tools in ImageMagick

You could also reduce the image resolution on the camera, probably.
