Will be getting in to Manchester Piccadilly, so looking for somewhere to eat near there...
Requirements:
-must serve salads
-not too expensive
-nice :-p

Any suggestions?
(And don't say macdonalds or burger king or any such, this is a serious request as I don't know Manchester well at all :-p)

There's a cafe in the back of a 'bazaar' type place in the NOrthern Quarter whose name I can't remember that might be good for your purposes - definitely not afflecks palace... um um um.

The Love Saves The Day cafe in Castlefield might also be good for what you want.

both places do good cake too.

My favourite place for lunch is Pan Asia on Faulkner Street, about 5-10 min walk from Piccadilly. At lunchtimes they do an all you can eat chinese buffet. It's about £7. The spring rolls are amazing!

There's a nice cafe/bar called Trof on Thomas St in the Northern Corner- I'm sure it has a couple of salads on the menu and there are loads of similar places around it.

Where is the northern quarter?

Where is castlefield?

These places sound good but I haven't the foggiest idea where anything in Mancs is apart from Mancs Piccadilly train station!! Would I need to get a bus or are they walkable?

the northern quarter is definitely walkable, castlefield is a bit further but still walkable.

Castlefield's too far.

For the Northern Quarter, walk towards the main shopping street keeping Picadilly gardens on your left. When you get to Debenhams turn right, this will lead you right into the Northern Quarter. Lots of cool places to eat.
go and search out the best pub in the world. - Bar Fringe.

Lots of good little Indian Cafes.

Kro bar at Piccadilly serves good food in a clean Scandanavian environment. Only a 5 minute walk from the station.

Trof or Odd in the Northern Quarter (Thomas Street) are great for food, beer and vibe.
