House hunting at the minute.

Any very recent personal experience of good solicitors and surveyors that you'd recommend in the Sheffield area? 

Usual people crop up on various Google searches but word of mouth is useful.

Coates in Mosborough. Myself and a few mates have used them and have had no complaints 

Greg Cunningham is a good surveyor 

We used Taylor Emmet as solicitors, they were fine.

We used Adminout for surveyors and they were bloody awful. The survey, once it arrived, was mostly fine, but there were a whole load of delays and the communication around them was abysmal.

Taylor Emmet get mentioned in reviews in a positive light. Think Wakes were the other biggish hitter. 

Coates look interesting as does Greg Cunningham.

Not a recommendation but a solicitor to avoid. We used Grayson's. Absolutely awful experience

We also used Greg Cunningham, following a recommendation from here, seemed to do a good job at a good price so couldn’t have asked for more. 
 

Taylor Emmet were our solicitors, was a couple of years ago now but after some initial nudging turned things around very quickly.

We have used Taylor emmit and also Coates for conveyance they both did a good job however Coates was a lot better value.

Mike Kidder is a great surveyor. Asked for recommendations on here a few years ago and ended up with him. Was very happy with the 2 surveys he provided. 

I had two very bad experiences with Taylor and Emmet, I would not trust them again
