How do you deal with calluses on your fingers? During the indoor season, I've developed calluses on three fingers on each hand. Yesterday, I ripped one off bouldering, which is going to keep me from climbing for a while. Do you treat your calluses, and if so, what do you do?

Leave it alone on a night!

Seriously though, some people use moisturiser, I think "Climb-On" is a similar thing developed specifically for climbers. Though being a manual worker I've always had calluses and they have never caused me any trouble.
Hopefully someone better qualified to comment will be along soon.

Sandpaper! Or a nail file! File them down, not to the point of being sore, but so they dont stick up so much, Ive found this is the only way, or, as you have found out, they can rip off!

Do nothing, tape if they rip.

FYI the climbing technical term is "a flapper"!

Soak them in a mixture of the blood of virgins and the milk of a spotted lizard. Or just use them to touching small girls' legs...

Use different hold types, reduce the amount of twisting your hand does on jugs especially, file down the hard skin on callouses to stop them catching. Tape flappers up so you can keep climbing

Thans everyone for your useful (and occasionally disturbing) input. Off to file my fingers.
