Please can the person who took my guidebook from under a rock at the base of the slabs in White Ghyll yesterday (August 21st) please return it to me. I’d carefully stashed it there when we started our route to keep it dry, and it had been taken when we got back down…

I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you thought it had been abandoned, but it did rather screw up our day, and it would have been nice if you’d just shouted up to ask if it was ours.

 I know this should probably be in Lost and Found, but I didn’t want it to get ‘lost’, like my guidebook…

Really hope you get it back - that's so annoying, guide books aren't cheap!! 

FWIW I always write my name in a big sharpie down the pages/ outside spine. Yes, it spoils a pristine book but it stops any accidental pick up and probably makes it a bit harder for anyone to keep using it in future without odd expressions from mates!

The person who mistakenly collected my guide has been in touch. Thanks to them and to the forums for putting us in contact.
