Hi,

sorry if this has been asked before on here.

what is the current acceptable access to Sharpynose these days?
we used to go over the gate near the perimeter on the MOD place and walk across to the coastal path. Is that still ok?

or do you get shot?

i did hear that you had to go to the carpark just down the coast and walk back, North, on the coastal path. But that’s a few years ago.

thanks

We went few weeks back and did as above (as I have on previous visits). Still accessible and we didn't get shot. Other people doing the same.

Although clearly its not in any way a public right of way, just the emergency access to the GCHQ site. You're jumping over a locked gate after all, and strolling round the outside of a rather sensitive listening station!

I think its more accepted now to do as you say, and park at Duckpool and walk north...

Have done both in recent years. The Duckpool approach is probably nicer.

I now usually cut across the fields to the from the gate to the north of GCHQ rather than the gate to the south that I used to use (easier to park), but as others have said the approach from Duckpool carpark along the coast path is also fine.
