Thinking visit Dungeon of Buchan tomorrow, last year the gate was open, is this still so?

I haven't been for 14 years, so can't really help. But the locals we met in the bothy said it was fairly relaxed down there, the gate's supposed to be locked but never is. Seems to go with the pace of life down there.
