Hello folks. Daft question.

Do you get torches with a front beam and a rear red light for running on road at this time of year?

Yes you do.

I'm sure there must be loads more options out there if you have a quick look around.

Alternatively you can get a very small red light to clip to the back of your existing headtorch band, e.g. Alpkit blip, which is cheap and lasts for ages before you need to change the CR2032 (or something of that ilk) battery.

Edit: LED Lenser H7R.2 has integral rear red light.

For going on roads without pavements in the dark I have a little red light that I hook onto the back of the headband of my headlight.

In reply to TheDrunkenBakers:

Yes. The Skoda Octavia has both.
Also Alpkit Gamma.

I have this and it's pretty good. My wife also has one and thinks it's brilliant. Front light sits on your chest not forehead and backlight on your back, but the strap is probably flexible enough to fit over a running pack if needed.

You'll need the Scout version for trail running though.

Petal nao plus does this, flashing, constant or off depending on the setting.

Thanks everyone

I invested in a nao+ and it’s been a total game changer for winter running (assuming you remember to charge it that is…)
