Probably a strange ask on a climbing site - i am driving from Kendal Cumbria to Buxton. Absolutely cannot do heights!!! vertigo etc. Do I need to go over hills , roads on mountain side, viaducts etc to get to Buxton!

No, drive south on the A6 from the Manchester ring road.  Just like any other road.  Might be safer to stay at home though!

Worth noting that Barton Bridge on the M60 is quite high!

Just keep your eyes closed on the hilly bits

I'm puzzled why you've joined a climbing forum today if your aversion to heights is so severe. Everything else on here is going to make you dizzy ( unless you want to know about estate cars)

He could be a troll. There are lots of bridges along the way.

Use a Sat nav or Google Maps and go via Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and/or Norfolk and you should be OK.

Has anyone told you that Buxton is the highest market town in England, or that seemingly every street in it is a hill?

Presumably that didn't appear anywhere in the training dataset

Isn't Alston considered the highest?

In reply to Pedro50:

It shares the title with Buxton (both at ca. 300m, Buxton marginally higher). Maybe the OP could do some training/acclimatisation there before tackling Buxton?
