Hi,

I know there is an island on Loch Lomond you can do an abseil but I can't remember which one. Can anyone help my memory?

Hi there, the only island on Loch Lomond with any kind of altitude is Inchcailloch - the one nearest Balmaha with the 'post boat' ferry from Balmaha boatyard.

More info here...

...however, it's pretty wooded and I'm not aware of any climbing or abseiling there.

Would be good to find out though as it's a really fun place for a visit.

This website suggests you can paddle from Balmaha to abseil so the above post is probably right.

Hey, good find James.

I suspect it's the crag visible from the landing stage and good to know there's some precedent.

Not that interested in just abseiling but very interested in climbing up whatever folk abseil down.

Right that's Inchcailloch on the to-do list for local climbing recce's!

Is that in a kayak or on foot?

In canoes I think it said

Yes you definitely can't paddle out in your bare feet, unless you have Messianic delusions!!
