Hi,
I am planning Jbel Toubkal Mid to late November. Do you know the summit conditions appropriate gear? Are Ice-axe and crampons needed at this time of the year? I planning on doing it on my own and knowing the conditions in advance would help tremendously in planning my trip.

Thanks in advance,

Ivo

You'll definitely need axes and crampons.

Along similar lines, I'm thinking of doing this with my girldfriend in March.

Obviously we'll be taking axe and crampons, but wondering if we'll need to take rope and harnesses? Are there any really exposed sections or sections where a rope might be needed for security/belay? Would it be advisable to walk roped up or is it really just an easy snow plod and taking a rope will be just uneccessary weight?

It's just a plod though there is one traversy bit near the top where you really wouldn't want to slip.

worth lugging a rope up for or just take that section carefully?

In reply to luke_brown:

Just be careful. It's the sort of spot where if you're tied together and one of you goes, you'll probably both go.
