Hi all, I want to get my 3 yr old a harness 9 he keeps following me up the gorges and it makes a terrible mess when he drops his ice cream).
I always thought a full body harness was best but I can only find a limited amount of these on the web. New Black diamond "kids harnesses" sound great but my lads very small yet. I don't want him to fall out.
So,
WHATS BEST ................?????????????????
Got any personal experience of your kid staying in one....?? Lemme know. Pagrat

The Petzl Oustiti is very good but aimed at kids 4 years and up. I suppose it depends how big your kid is.

Hey thanks for that one Simon, My 3 yr old is bigger than my 6 yr old nephew. . .
have you got a four year old? or did you own one years ago? (oustiti- not 4yr old) or are you a dealer? or are you small?
The Petzl Oustiti is fine for kids from the time they can first try to climb up to about age 9 - 10. We used it for both ours. You must have a full body harness, as kids hips arn't bigger than the waist, if they hang on the rope and tip up, they fall straight out of a sit harness!

Thanks Rob - I ordered one from field and trek £32 incl P&P - didn't seem to bad.

My son Breyten aged 4 has been wearing a Rock Empire full body harnass for about a year. Well made, sturdy, easy to put on and reasonably priced.
Best of all... it has gear loops. I mean how cool is that! My little nipper could lead wearing this harnass... aged 4! In reality, we only use it to clip the odd draw to, to make him feel like a 'proper' climber.

rob says that a full harness is a must if you have no hips. does that mean all us fatties should wear them? I've never had hips, even when I wasin my twenties,40 years doing it wrong, beggar.

I got gearloops on my harness 15 years ago, when will I start to feel like a real climber?
