Looking for guide books or any info on climbing in the South West of France. So far identified a French guide that I cant find a copy of over here (Escalades dans le val de Dronne en Périgord) plus 3 pages on Ceou in a Birkett French climbing guide. Does anyone have any topos or general info?

In reply to pdufus:

There are download/printable topos to many of the best crags in the Ariège at http://cafma.free.fr/plan.htm

Should keep most people going for a lifetime or two!

In reply to pdufus: Was an Article in one of the UK climbing magazines recently on Gorge de Tarn which is an amazing place to climb. There is also Gorge de Jonte and Gorge de Doubie (spelling) near by. You can probably get a lot of info off the web. But will have to get out there to get a guide.

In reply to pdufus: Just back from Millau area. Stayed at Le Roziere, in a nice wee friendly campsite Les Peupliers, much cheaper 5€ less than municipal. Guide books for 3 areas Gorge du Tarn, La Dourbie and Jonte 22€ each from Tabac in village.Thought La Jonte the best.

In reply to baldie:

do you mean La Jonte was the best area or best guidebook?

if the former what sort of grades were you climbing?
