I don't understand why a Primaloft belay jacket requires an e-vent outer.

In reply to The New NickB: If you're treating it as a storm layer for over softshell it'll be lighter than a belay jacket and seperate waterproof, also having a waterproof bulky enough to layer over a belay jacket for really rough weather isn't going to have a suitible cut for doing anything else with it.

I do as I wore this jacket in a snow storm last week, and have worn it in the rain. It's warm and waterproof. Top notch construction, very pleased with it.
