In reply to UKC News: The British Team youth C category were represented by Tara Hayes from Northampton and Randy Roby from Todmorden. Also in the younger categories Jack Graham and Jacob Lowe. All the UK youngsters were unused to Speed Climbing and the bouldering format is also very different to The BMC Youth Climbing Series like a rushed BBC competition in full on sun!
However the routes are what we have been training for and Tara and Randy both came 9th on their first route and then Randy improved to 7th on his second whilst unfortunately Tara dropped to 14th.
The good thing is that we have climbers up there competing with the best climbers in their age brackets from all over. If they continue to train and pursue their goals it bodes very well for the future. This is the last year for Randy and Tara as next year they can compete in a full EYC. Jack and Jacob can test their skills again next year back at very sunny and very hot Arco.

Over the weekend of the 5th and 6th of June more than 400 hundred climbers took part in the Arco Rock Junior in Italy.
