It's a long shot but I know there are some very 'venerable' members of UKC so here goes. Can anyone recommend one or more episodes of HHH that give a good 'flavour' of Hancocks comedy to someone not familiar with it. With the exception of 'The Blood Donor' and 'The Radio Ham' which episodes might be considered the 'classics' ?

Cheers

In reply to David Peters: I think 'Sunday Afternoon at Home' is the absolute classic. 'The Blood Donor' has some brilliant lines, but isn't as good overall IMHO.

The BBC seem to have Hancock's Half Hour in permanent rotation on Tuesdays on BBC7.

Oi - I'm not "that" old, but I still enjoy the old comedy classics

Mainly because my Dad is very into things like Hancock, the Goon Show and Round the Horne - side splitting, the lot of them.

Or not, depending on your sense of humour!

I agree that one is excellent. I was beginning to think that I had imagined hearing it, though, as I don't seem to have it in my collection. Very odd...

Isn't that the one where Kenneth Williams taps on the cockpit canopy?

My Fav is "Blabbermouth" one of the very few that Hancock actually comes out on top.

However Agricultural 'Ancock and Old School Reunion are also great.

So so many fantastic episodes.

In reply to David Peters: I've just caught the closing credits for "The Test Match" broadcast on BBC Radio 7 yesterday. As well as the regular cast, it featured Brian Johnson, Godfrey Evans, Colin Cowdrey and Frank Tyson - bit of a treat for a boring old cricketing fart like me!
