Am going up spantik in august in Pakistan but travelling for 7 weeks before...

How much gear can I get in skardu? Basially need down sleeping bag, crampons, ice axe and food?

In reply to aujayeb: You can get that gear in Skardu but be prepared to pay a lot for it. Most everything is used. Food? Depends on what you want. Leftover freeze-dried food from expeditions, but nothing new. Skardu isn't Kathmandu (or Namche Bazaar) and I'd hate to depend on finding usable gear at a reasonable price.

In reply to aujayeb: Who are you using for Spantik? Can they sort out or hire stuff for you? Not much in Skardu, although it has grown a fair bit.
