Hi, have an error on my 13 month old D3100 saying "Error. Press shutter release button again". I have seen a post on a similar error on the D40, which suggests removing the baseplate and releasing the small plastic cogs inside that activate the shutter. However, it doesnt look as if my D3100 has an actual base plate, and I'm not keen on undoing the screws underneath without making sure I'm undoing the correct ones. Therefore, does anyonehave any instructions or diagrams showing how to get inside my D3100?

thanks

If you registered promptly there is a good chance you have a 2 year guarantee on recent Nikon SLRs. I would check your warranty cover and get Nikon to sort out if possible.

Thanks Steve checked and its only a 12 Month Warrenty. Had a quote for £130 minumum to look at it so trying just trying to asses what damage I can do by opening it up
