Going to Manchester with a friend for a few days next week and we plan to get out into the countryside for the day and do some walking. Nothing too hardcore.

We won't have a car so will be using public transport. We have been to the Hope Valley before, so does anyone have other recommendations for good walking reasonably close by - say 30-45 minutes away?

Ta!

Train to Edale is about 40 mins from Manchester Piccadilly/Oxford Road.

180 bus will drop you off (terminate) at The Clarence, Greenfield. From thereon, the Chew Valley is yours.
