Just a quick note - there are 800-fill down duvets in Costco. Hungarian down, silky light fabric, no hood. Very similar to the other 'nano' style jackets on the market. All for a rather staggering £50.

Unbranded. Green, black or dark pewter grey.

Having intended to purchase provisions for XMas drinks and what-have-you, I find myself unexpectedly the owner of a new down jacket and a frowning wife - "why do you need another......" - but I'm sure you know the routine!

A great post, thanks, and the bit I quote made me laugh a lot. Yes, we do all know the routine on that one!! Happy Christmas mate.

Thanks for the heads up - I was a bit sceptical having investigated the Karrimor branded ones people were talking about the other week, but these are considerably better quality. Can't see much difference between this and the old Patagonia down sweater I used to have (other than the colours are a bit less inspiring) - definitely worth a punt for £50.
