South Col to Summit

Can anyone please tell me what is the horizontal distance between the Everest South Col and the summit? Just a general interest thing.

In reply to mypyrex: just googled this: "It is about 1.07 miles from the South Col to the summit and usually takes from 6 to 9 hours or more "
