Hi, this may seem a tad obvious however,we are due to go out to chamonix this wkd but the weather is looking dodgy for high level routes and were already considering a couple of days in Cogne prior to going higher up. This weather front (Foehn) is dropping quite a bit of snow in the aosta valley and a couple of weather websites are suggesting over a period of 24hrs from tomorrow night onwards, it will drop a foot of snow in Cogne.
will this rule out routes in cogne due to avalanche danger or are there relatively safer areas to climb? thanx for any help getting a bit desperate as due to leave tomorrow morning so may end up sacking trip!
