A really excellent speaker - certainly much better than his reading which was rather flat and which he managed to stumble over. I've absolutely zero interest in the Himalaya - and even less in the 8000s - but he kept me riveted the whole time.
In reply to jon: Took me a while to get into the style of his books. My guess is he may have narrated it out loud for someone to type up later, which would explain the style. It's common practice in publishing. Only speculation on my part.
