What's all this about a big day out at Wimbeery then? Appointment with Fear repeated?
 Calder 05 May 2013
In reply to Removed User: Appointment with Death you mean....

In reply to Removed User:

"Big day at Wimberry yesterday Tom Randall gets 2nd ascent of 'Appointment with Death' Pete Whittaker adds new E9"

From WC's Facebook...
 Calder 05 May 2013
In reply to stoo2k:

The new E9 is apparently the arete below Appointment with Fear. And Nathan Lee also did Order of the Pheonix.

From WC's Twitter.

In reply to Calder:

Thought it might have been as I saw people on it last week, good effort and nice to see some traffic at Wimberry.
 Red Rover 07 May 2013
In reply to Removed User: Is there any news or videos or anything about this?
 Calder 07 May 2013
In reply to Red Rover:

Tom Randall's blog has a good report and some pics, and I saw a vid of Nathan's lead of OotP but I don't recall where, just google his name and Wimberry.

I believe it was filmed, so watch this space I guess.

In reply to nathanlee: Any more new on Pete W's new route? Us local Chew folk are chomping at the bit for more info!
 Calder 11 May 2013
In reply to Phil Sneyd:

A few good pics on the Wild Country facebook page, and some blogs by the respective climbers.

In reply to Removed User: Cant believe these routes got done they look impossibloe. It was such a good weekend in Chew, the brilliant high summer days you get up there but in May.
 Red Rover 11 May 2013
In reply to ro8x: Wherre is disconsolate, the new E6, is that the arere of appointment with death?
In reply to Red Rover: No, it,s Consolation Prize climbed on the right. How obvious was *that* for a new route but it's taken this long for someone to see it. Great work.
 Phil Sneyd 11 May 2013
In reply to Calder: Thanks. Great shot. The new Meshuga!

In reply to Frank the Husky: I heard Freddie's Finale also got repeated last week but I find that hard to believe...
 Red Rover 11 May 2013
In reply to Removed User: If I climb a VS in chew I usually go home feeling heroic, those E9's must be pretty shocking.
 Tom Valentine 11 May 2013
In reply to Removed User:

Stupendous as all these E6 to 9 routes are, I will still be impressed by the ordinary cragsman who can say he ticked the Big Three in a day.
 Red Rover 11 May 2013
In reply to Tom Valentine: Whats the big 3?
 Tom Valentine 11 May 2013
In reply to Red Rover:

I was going to say "The three HVS's which would put most E1's to shame" but have just checked, seen and noted a couple of upgrades.
