Does anyone know what type of spring they use? There a fiver a pop at the moment, but wanted to check they were cave proof.

In reply to 54ms: There is a slim flat piece of metal which goes into the gate. I can't tell what is housed inside the gate though.

I like these crabs. You can get two clove hitches in them easily on 9mm rope.

They use a steel spring. I've used them for caving on my SRT kit. The springs and threads went eventually, but they always do.

Thank you. I know no kit is truly cave proof, but having steel springs makes quite a difference.
