Is there any chance of midges in the Cairngorms ?

Camping in Cairngorms for next 4 nights. Given the still overcast conditions, might there be midges? Thanks.

How high? I got lightly swarmed at about 400m altitude on the west coast on sunday.

In reply to Phil1919: I was up there over the weekend, only found a few around Corrour bothy. I camped by the Wells of Dee one night and lower down in the Lairig Ghru on the second night, it was quite windy though.

Don't know about the Cairngorms but got a severe midging in Skye yesterday afternoon, so they are still around. No frosts yet.

They're on the way out, and you shouldn't get too much bother, but I'd still pack the counter-measures!
