How polarized goggles / sunglasses work

I've just written this piece, kinda from a skiing perspective more than climbing. In case anyone is interested! Ignore otherwise!

agreed, only for skiing. people who climb in sunglasses are inevitably massive bellends anyway. -and most likely southern.

Or are climbing in bright sunshine, and you never get that in the north.

It's worth noting that not all manufacturers advocate polarized lenses for all sports - Adidas for one. They use a different technology based on coatings (polarized lenses basically consist of a membrane within the lens) that reduce incidental light (glare) from all directions other than what you are looking at. They work too - I have a pair of Adidas goggles which I normally only wear when the light is poor and flat, and they are fantastic.
