Hi, I'm in my second year of sixth form, and I was just wondering if any of you would be willing to take the time to fill out this questionnaire about competitive climbing in order to help me with my EPQ? If you could then it would be much appreciated. If you complete it, could you please email your responses to me at matt.davies135@yahoo.co.uk. Thanks.
Climbing Questionnaire:
1) At what age did you start climbing, and how long have you been climbing for?
2) Would you classify yourself as a professional or casual climber?
3) What is the hardest grade you have climbed?
a) Bouldering?
b) Leading?
4) How would you rate your flexibility on a scale from 1-10, where 1 in not flexible at all, and 10 is incredibly flexible?
5) How would you rate your strength on a scale from 1-10, where 1 is not strong at all, and 10 is incredibly strong?
6) Which would you say is more important: strength or flexibility?
7) How many competitions have you competed in?
8) How many competitions have you podiumed in?
9) How would you rate your personal success over the competitions you have entered?
10) What is your attitude towards competitions?
11) What is your attitude towards personal failure?
12) How many hours a week do you climb on average?
13) Why do you climb?
Hi Matt
Any chance of a Survey Monkey?
It would be a tad easier and might get a bigger response
Also, are you only applying this to wall climbers (I assume so) not trad?
Cheers
Your heading says the survey is about competitive v casual climbing, but your second question asks whether you are a "professional" or casual climber. Professional does not equal competitive, and vice versa.
All the questions are then about competitive climbing.
I think you need to expand on the strength bit. You get really strong people who can't climb hard. It is more strength to weight and finger strength which is important.
