Hey folks

Does anyone know somewhere in Leh that sells gas canisters for stoves? This is for a trek up Stok Kangri.

Plenty of the trekking shops usually have them.
Ideally run the cartridge whilst turning it upside down to ensure they havent been topped up with water before you leave the shop - Old Indian trick sahib trust them but dont trust them
If all else fails Motup, or more likely one of his staff ,at Rimo will probably sell you some good ones

My reply almost word for word . Rimo will probably sell you them at a slight premium but they will be genuine and full of gas rather than other less helpful substances.

I bought plenty last June at a place just in the main bazaar at the Old Fort Rd end, up a few stairs, pretty much underneath the rooftop pizza place, opposite a popular ATM/bank. They were Korean, decent quality, lasted well and were around eight dollars each. He bought back the full ones at the end of the trip too.

You see plenty of trekking shops with canisters in the window but they're mostly for show, or empty.
