Some ETA fell shoes appeared on my clubs Facebook page and after a bit of googling, it appears the ETA were initials, and the E was for UKC's very own Al Evans. Is this true? Anyone know what happened to them? Were they a pre cursor to the Walsh PB or were they around at the same time?

Not the UKC Al Evans, but another very good biker and runner/climber.

Off the top of my head , ETA's were around in the early 90's. Walsh PB's from early 80's, Walsh shoes around for donkeys years before that.

I had a couple of pairs in the early 1990's, I think the 'A' referred to Keith Anderson, the 1991 British Fell Running Champion who was involved in their design.
