Anyone sent their camera in for a service? Was it costly, and / or worthwhile?

Once was £100 for a full clean after a DSLR fell into liquid mud. The other was a sensor clean

Happy with the service both times. But unless i had a specific problem i wouldn't bother

I have Nikon cameras, but I am wondering about moving to Canon as they seem to be less robust than my old FE2 of the past. I used to send them back to Nikon, but they always want to be paid up front and a lot of messing around. I have tried Lehman's which deals with both Nikon and Canon, and they seem more straightforward and human. Obviously you have to pay before the camera comes back,but that is more logical.
