Hi Folks

Was wondering if anyone from here plans to do this years GO33? Or has done it recently?

I'm looking for a route map - struggling to find one, as I believe the route has been changed in the last couple of years. (Now starts and finishes in Killin)

Thanks

Folk in my club have done it every year, and I've been out supporting every year. The route map is a bit elusive - the best option is to have a look on the Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/513794472025108/

or you can download a gpx file from here:
http://www.runyabam.com/downloads/gpx/glenogle33_2014.gpx

Let me know if you don't have the wherewithall to use the gpx file and I'll see what I can do about translating it into a real map for you.

There are assorted Strava-type routes on the FB page, but if you don't have any joy with that, I'll sort you a proper map.

But it's basically:
- steep out of Killin to start
- flat along to the burger van at the top of Glen Ogle and then down the old railway to what used to be the old Kingshouse Hotel, now Mhor 84
- along the road to Balquhidder and undulating back roads to Strathyre
- cross the A84 and go up onto forest tracks back to Mhor 84
- retrace your steps up the railway to the burger van
- down a slightly different route back to Killin, finishing along the main road and into McLaren Park.

It's a good day out - really friendly atmosphere along the way.

My wife is doing it. I'll be the guy sitting beside the trail on a deckchair with a cowbell and a bag of beer.

In reply to tony:

The park in Killin is called Breadalbane Park, not McLaren Park

Here's a map of the route that you can zoom in to really close http://www.fetcheveryone.com/routes-view.php?id=1748732
