Hello all,

After listening to Metallica's 'Load' in the car for the first time in a long while, it struck me that Hero of the Day would be a great song to be listening to while soloing. I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for reflective, contemplative rock songs that fit the same bill.

I currently have in my playlist:
- Metallica - Hero of the Day
- Pantera - Cemetary Gates
- Pantera - Planet Caravan
- Distubed - The Sound of Silence (cover of Simon & Garfunkel)
- Gun N' Roses - November Rain

(Please no comments about listening to the great outdoors - I don't need telling about the beauty of tranquillity, I already appreciate it!)

...although I must confess to hearing 'Enter Sandman' in my head during a particularly hairy runout during Scottish Winter.

Eh, I'm not a massive Guns N' Roses fan in general, but Spotify recommended it and it caught my ear.

While i truly adore the original..i also have a soft spot for Metallica's cover of Whisky in the Jar.

The way they make the infamous riff just blast out is goosebumpy.

Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People..such as kicking tub thumping tune.
