Need a pair to do a bit of everything, has anyone tried them?

Will be fitting on to a pair of Mammut Nordwand b3 or Asolo Alpinist b2s dependent on whether I'm walking or climbing.

I've got G12s already but they will be borrowed by the gf.

Seen them once in person they seemed 6/10 if that makes sense. Try Simond crampons much easier to get hold of, if not then i guess you'll have to fork out on the usual offerings

That said, they might be hard to come by, in which case other options exist as well. My choice has been Austria Alpin SkySteep, that is modular (like the Lynx) so you can set 'em up newmatic style or with a front bail. Grivel also now sells a frontbail that turns any of their bindings to newmatics (and I'm quite sure you can make the bail work with other brands as well).

But just remember that these kinds of crampons are not really the best ones to walk... So if you plan on doing a lot of walkin' and easier climbing, perhaps get a lighter pair a'la Grivel AirTech for the GF.
