Myself and friends have decided to head to the Alps next year. We all have lots of winter experience in Snowdonia and Scotland up to grade ll/lll.

Our plan is to summit a peak with a overnight stop at a hut.

We are on a budget and looking for suggestions.

I'm in the same position. Or research has led us to Arolla in Switzerland. Quieter then cham. Higher than cham.
Doable peaks and huts nearby.

I'm just waiting on summer flights from jet2 and easyjet to be released...

Go to the campsite at ailefroide in the ecrins and do dome de neige, then take it from there.
