As per the title really, as well as maybe people not to go and see for whatever reason.

Not sure what the issue is but this guy is highly recommended and fairly close.

In reply to Dave Garnett: Dave, thanks for that. I've sent him an email. Further suggestions welcome.

Basically it's unusual stiffness in ring and middle fingers on both hands for the past 4-5 weeks for a few minutes after waking up, and a strange "clicking" in ring fingers as I extend from 90 deg to full, again for a few minutes after waking. It's not chronic but I want it sorted ASAP and cost is no issue!

In reply to Frank the Husky:

Have you been overdoing it on the wall or beastmaker, by any chance? I get a similar clicky thing on extension in my middle finger since I've upped the training a bit recently.
In reply to Dave Garnett: I never go to the wall and I don't use a Beastmaker but that would be a good explanation otherwise. This has happened since I went on London Wall. I suspect that lots of fingertip jams with no feet have had some effect. I didn't do it cleanly, but that probably goes without saying.

how far north of Birmingham? I had my carpal tunnel op done by one of the specialists in Livingston St john's hospital. very nice chap.
In reply to graeme jackson: I'm near Buxton, but someone good is worth the effort.

Another vote for Derby.
In reply to marsbar: Great. Derby what, though?

You'll know of this guy? http://www.stevebollen.co.uk/

Although he is a 'knee' man now he did a lot of work back in the day on climber's hands including a research project when he was based in Leeds. A climber too.

In reply to Frank the Husky:

Presumably you've tried the obvious stuff, like antiinflammatories?

In reply to Dave Garnett: I haven't because I'm one of those who thinks that inflammation is part of the healing/protection process but I might be wrong. I'm after a pre-emptive consultation to find out what's what.

It depends if it's happening in a confined space. Like a flexor tendon sheath. Slightly odd that it's so symmetrical though.
In reply to Dave Garnett: I'm open to all knowledgeable advice. I've emailed your man and he can give me a definitive answer and such like. Thanks Dave.
