First of all, I must applaud Milnes for the previous thread from November 2015:

I recently posted information about the felling of trees in Sheffield - as part of the council's road/street "improvement" plans, through the PFI contact awarded to the contractor Amey - on the "B" channel:

http://ukbouldering.com/board/index.php/topic,27675.0.html

My own motivations for getting involved are many and varied, but it's clear that consultation over the felling of trees as part of management of the contract, has been at least inadequate, and possibly directly misleading, with the result that many more trees than necessary appear to be under threat from felling.

It's anticipated that the next few weeks will see an increase in activity to fell trees in the Nether Edge and Ecclesall areas of Sheffield, with further action today - and a good turnout of support in protest - on Chippinghouse Road, Nether Edge.

We need as much support as possible and I'm trying to do my bit, to canvass support from the local climbing and wider community.

If you would like more information, please either follow the links on the other post (UKB), or contact the local campaign group through this link:

or, indeed, just PM me.

Any support will be greatly appreciated.

Dave Thomas.
