Brean Down - tidal but excellent in winter/spring sunshine
New Quarry in the gorge - some loose rock but fun to visit for a morning or afternoon
Wintours has some fun sport routes (single and multi pitch), Wyn Cliff Quarry or Ban-y-gore over in Wye Valley - but check access for Ban-y-gore on BMC website

Hope that helps

You're also within fairly good range of South Wales sport e.g. Tirpentwys is about an hour or so away.

The new Avon guide has sport routes on the Leigh Woods side, not had the chance to venture there yet.

woodcroft quarry, Ban-y-gor and Wyndcliff quarry are all very close (just over the old severn bridge).

I would agree with Legs.
I use New Quarry as a quick hit - easy in, easy out. Brean for pushing the grade and Cheddar for variety. Have been to Tintern, some good routes (Dispossessed and the Crystal Tower routes) and some very c**p routes (don't turn left on entering in my opinion). Access ??
