"Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry has died aged 90, police in the US state of Missouri report.

The singer was found unresponsive at lunchtime on Saturday, St Charles County police said.

Berry's seven-decade career boasted a string of hits, including classics Roll Over Beethoven and Johnny B. Goode.
He received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1984 and was among the first inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986."

I couldn't believe someone hadn't started a thread, then spotted this. Quite how many classic songs did he write ?

A real showman. Prickly and to-the-point, didn't suffer fools gladly, but boy! he could sure knock out a riff.

This is my favorite clip, true icons hamming it up......

The documentary film, "Hail! Hail! Rock'n'Roll" is one of the most intriguing bio-pics I have ever watched. In a weird way, I really thought it captured some of the complexities of the man.

It's also hard to believe that so many people had success with songs he wrote, but he himself only had one No 1 in the UK and the USA.
And ironically it was the the only song he wrote that he truly disliked.
