Anyone know how good the path down to Ossian from Bealach Dubh is? The one on the north bank of the Uisge Labhair.
Was last in the area in July, and there seemed to be some major path renovations going on after the Bealach Dubh high point, but wasn't sure if they were going to continue onward to Ossian, or head off towards Ben Alder cottage. Any info appreciated!

The Main path from the Bealach Dubh bends round to Ben Alder cottage. Last June the path down to Ossian was really pretty vague in places.

As above. It could be worth checking the satellite images.

There is now a hydro scheme in there that might not be on the satellite images. Not sure if this makes the path better or worse - probably better up to the top weir (which is still some way short of the Bealach Dubh). The actual path through the bealach (that curves on round to Ben Alder Cottage) is top notch, but I seem to recall a pathless section between here and Loch Ossian.

The new track/path up to the top weir is really only a shortish part of the way. Beyond here it gradually deteriorates and winds along the river, effectively becoming pathless a bit before you cut up right to join the excellent path from Ben alder Cottage. Could involve a tricky river crossing or needing to continue pathless further towards the Bealach after heavy rain
