I'm a cyclist but I found myself routing for the train.....

Ps It's a joke I of course wouldn't want anyone to have to clear up the mess.

It was grammatically correct though

That's not a cyclist, that's a knob on a bike.

In reply to Chive Talkin\': Yeah.

I don't recall Oceanrower commenting on this story with 'Can drivers get any dafter'.

Well, to respond to your question of how: I think the article makes that pretty clear, he lifted his bike over the barrier.

There are many kinds of idiot in the world, owning and using a bike neither prevents, or predicts stupidity.

Basing judgements about groups of society on single, isolated incidents is rarely a helpful response.

There's a good reason I didn't comment. I hadn't seen it.

However, for the record, he's a tw*t too.

I meant, how can anyone be that stupid.

Does the same apply to other road users that make idiotic and dangerous mistakes?

What a nob, reading further down it says he eventually crossed on a foot bridge.
The mind boggles.

Why wouldn't it?

Fair enough.
As a careful driver, will I'll be allowed to dismiss the antics of others by saying: "That's not a driver, that's a knob in a car"?
 MonkeyPuzzle 12 May 2017
In reply to FactorXXX:

Absolutely. This already happens doesn't it, seeing as most of us drive or at least travel by car? The problem is a lot of people view cyclists as some homogenous mass all powered by a single hive-mind.

'Just when you think cyclists can't get any dafter...'

What collective trend of daftness have you already subjectively applied to cyclists?

Of course you will, but as you probably know there's no need to.

When a car driver has killed other road users because they've been playing on their phone, you don't get comments along the lines of 'That's what gives drivers a bad name', 'Drivers are idots' ect. When a cyclist does something wrong you do.

In reply to Oceanrower:

I feel your pain, and dismay, at both the antics of the cyclist you chose to highlight, but also the walloper replies you get on here - sigh, the indignant and the oh so clever ones.....

Oh well, its Friday, the sun is shining, be happy.

When I worked for British Rail in the early 80's they were called 2 mile jigsaws.
