Anyone who's been doing climbing in Reunion or Mayotte? There's some little information availlable on the web, but would be nice to learn from some first hand experience ...
I have lived in Reunion, but didn't climb when I was there. There is a 'maison de Montagne' in St Denis, they should be able to give you some information.
Was there in 2009 on a non-climbing trip but did have my rock shoes and there was a pretty good bouldering spot on the West coast of La Réunion - would need to look up the name, but from memory some abrasive black steep rock right above a sandy beach.
In reply to tjekel: Was in Reunion a couple of years ago, although not with a climbing partner. We did the walk to La Cascade de Bras Rouge and there was an impressive bolted route up next to the waterfall. Not sure of the grade though. As said above its a fantastic place. Lovely people.
