Great effort and too bad he didn't make the final. Looked like he climbed high enough but just didn't clip the last bolt. Hopefully it will give him some confidence for the future.

The UK seems to have quite a few talented young climbers now. Shame the BMC won't do more to support them in getting to comps abroad. We don't have much in the way of hard rock routes, and support for competitions is sadly lacking.

Hope the final goes ahead. The forecast is not looking promising.

Both Jim and Molly Thompson Smith who finished 11th represented GB Climbing very creditably in Briancon this weekend. The BMC does have a small performance bonus for those athletes making finals and podiums in Senior World Cups and hopefully UK Sport will be contributing to those who make it on to the Olympic program.
