Metal eyelets damaging La Sportiva Solutions

Hi

I have used Solutions for sport/trad/bouldering for the last few years. They are excellent for getting power through your toes and surprisingly comfy for a performance shoe. 

The only flaw is that on doing any sort of toe hook the metal eyelets get damaged leading to fraying of the tightening tape. This last pair have got damaged in about 3 sessions. 

Does anyone have any ways to modify the shoe to prevent it. 

seems like a really shit design flaw in an otherwise really good shoe.

I absolutely love solutions, so comfy for a top end shoe but have had the same problem.

First the metal eyelets can rust/tarnish and then they cause wear on the straps and I have also had the problem with toe hooks. Specifically the toe hook on Tetris really made me notice it. It also created a pressure point that was a touch uncomfortable. I just put a wrap of finger tape round the boot. Didn't affect putting it on or off but fully protected the strap. Ended up leaving the tape there for ages.

Not ideal but it worked fine. They have just released an updated solution so I hope it is as good and addresses the issue but i bet it won't!
