Beaten by the Irish in rugby, by the French in football and absolutely humiliated in ODIs. Happy days! Make the most of it.

In reply to earlsdonwhu:

Their biggest ever defeat, in terms of runs, in an ODI. Magic stuff. Just wish I could have used my tickets for the next 2 but alas I am working away.

Yeah, I thought England were having a bad sporting patch but maybe the rugby's just a blip! Stunning performance tonight.

I was just looking at the BBC report which mentioned that Eoin Morgan was now England's highest ODI run scorer.  What really surprised me was that Ian Bell was second, ahead of people like Paul Collingwood, KP, etc.  Also better strike rate (77.16) and average (37.87) than third placed Paul Collingwood.

You know that you're getting greedy, when we beat the world record by nearly 40 runs, and you're disappointed that the race for 500 petered out due to the batting collapse at the end

So many records broken yesterday.

Eoin Morgan became highest ODI run scorer and quickest ever to hit 50.

It was the biggest total as well as the biggest winning margin. Not bad at all.

Hales was impressive and Bairstow really on form at the moment.

Bairstow now the greatest ODI opener of all time;

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_positionma...

see if he can keep that strike rate and average for the next 324 matches

This was a very friendly pitch with short boundaries but those records against the Aussies will hurt for a long time. You could sort of see this coming one day on such a pitch, as the England one day top order are so potentially destructive but I was dancing on the sofa that it happened this week against this side (especially as their bowlers are not that bad).

Groundhog day for Australia. This time at the Riverside.

Great work by the English boys!

It was about time they upped their cricket game (tongue in ceek), the ashes next year are looking a lot more competitive.

(Yes, I'm an Aussie. Let the banter flow)
