Strange question and not entirely sure where I should’ve posted this, but does anyone suffer with dry sinuses from climbing chalk? I climb indoors and there’s always loads of chalk in the air. Recently it’s been causing really dry sinuses and a sore throat. Has anyone else had this problem?

It is pretty common if there is no proper air circulation, plus it is difficult to clean dust and chalk off the walls and holds apart from when removing them to change routes. My advice would be to try climbing outdoors, or educate people on their chalk use. It is supposed to soak up sweat on your hands, not magically give you the strength you need for a route or boulder problem as many young lads seem to think.

Not sure I have had this specifically but I think I do get affected a bit when climbing a lot indoors during the winter.  Try drinking lots of water (which I find easy to forget to do when enjoying a good session).
