It is pretty common if there is no proper air circulation, plus it is difficult to clean dust and chalk off the walls and holds apart from when removing them to change routes. My advice would be to try climbing outdoors, or educate people on their chalk use. It is supposed to soak up sweat on your hands, not magically give you the strength you need for a route or boulder problem as many young lads seem to think.
