Hi UKC,

I'm in search of an old mag article written by Phil Thornhill, which I think was in an early On The Edge mag, about climbing on the soft sandstone and mud cliffs at Hastings. Does anybody have early copies of OTE that they could look in for it? Thanks Grant

Fantastic story that. What a mad place too. I went to look at the VS and E1 there once, thinking they were sandstone - turns out they're just sand. Fallen down now.

Hope you find the article.

If you want any other articles I was kindly given the entire OTE back catalogue by a member on here so more than happy to share the love in this way.

That's excellent, thanks. Nice work by Phil R.S. Thornhill, to use his full name... allegedly.

Having just read Vic Saunders' more recent book (Structured Chaos) it looks like the story has been "refined and developed" over time. Still a great story though. Good book too - well worth it. Thanks for posting the links.
